Introduction

Welcome to Life Tracker. This privacy policy explains how the app handles your personal information.

Your privacy is our priority. Life Tracker gives you full control over your data โ€” you can use the app entirely locally, or optionally sign in with Google to back up and sync your data across devices.

๐Ÿ”

Authentication

Life Tracker offers an optional Google Sign-In feature. Authentication is handled by Google's secure OAuth 2.0 system. When you sign in, we receive the following information from Google:

  • Your name and email address
  • Your Google profile photo
  • A unique user ID to identify your account

This information is used solely to identify your account and associate your data with it. We do not use it for any other purpose.

๐Ÿ”’ Sign-in is completely optional. You can use all core features of Life Tracker without creating an account.
๐Ÿ’พ

Data Storage

Life Tracker stores your data in two ways depending on whether you are signed in:

Without an account (local only)

All your data is stored exclusively on your device. Nothing is sent to external servers. This includes:

  • Daily habits and progress logs
  • Personal goals and objectives
  • Tasks and appointments
  • Weekly and monthly reviews
  • Daily mood and energy logs
  • Personal notes and reflections
  • Day photos (always stored locally only)
  • Language and visual theme preferences

With a Google account (cloud sync)

When you sign in, the following data is securely synced to Google Firebase Firestore, hosted on servers in Europe (region: eur3):

  • Goals, habits and objectives
  • Tasks and appointments
  • Weekly and monthly reviews
  • Daily mood, energy and reflection notes
  • Personal notes
๐Ÿ“ท Day photos are always stored locally on your device only and are never uploaded to any server, regardless of whether you are signed in.
โ˜๏ธ Cloud data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. It is stored securely in Google Firebase and is only accessible to your account.

What We Don't Do

  • We do not sell your data to any third party
  • We do not use your data for advertising purposes
  • We do not share your data with anyone other than Google Firebase (cloud storage)
  • We do not use tracking cookies or analytics SDKs
  • We do not access your location, microphone or contacts
  • We never access your device camera โ€” photos can only be added by picking an existing image from your gallery/files, the app has no camera capture feature
๐Ÿ””

Notifications

The app may send local notifications (habit reminders, weekly reviews, appointment alerts). These notifications are generated and processed entirely on your device and do not involve any server communication.

You can enable or disable notifications at any time in the app settings or in your device's system settings.

๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ

Data Deletion and Account Removal

You have full control over your data and can delete it at any time:

Without an account:

  • On the mobile app: uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage/data in your device settings, permanently deletes all local data
  • On the web version: clearing your browser's site data (or cookies and site storage) for this site removes all local data

With a Google account:

  • Open the app โ†’ tap the profile icon (top right) โ†’ tap "Delete account and data"
  • This permanently deletes all your data from Firebase and signs you out
  • Local data on the device is also erased at the same time
๐Ÿ—‘๏ธ Account and data deletion is available directly in the app and takes effect immediately. No request to support is needed.
๐ŸŒ

Data Location and GDPR

For users who sign in with Google, data is stored in Google Firebase Firestore in the Europe West region (eur3), which covers Belgium and the Netherlands. This ensures compliance with European data protection regulations (GDPR).

Under GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, and delete your personal data at any time. You can exercise these rights directly in the app or by contacting us at the email address below.

Minors

Life Tracker is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
